LG and Vizio are in different price categories. LG is considered to be a premium brand these days so expect to be paying considerably more them than Vizio. One hopes that the higher price will be reflected in the image quality but be aware that as both use passive 3D, they are both restricted to a mere 540 lines of resolution in 3D mode.

Vizio, being a budget model can be forgiven for the lack of resolution. Other brands claiming to be among the premium manufacturers really should be offering full HD resolution.

LG has the far more expensive 3D LED TV in my opinion.

Vizio has adopted the movie industry 3D technology for passive 3D in the same way that LG did so their technologies are similar.

Expect more features on an LG because it is more expensive but compare the two before making a purchase. If the Visio looks good, has comfortable glasses and has the features you need, think carefully before spending the extra on an LG.

Note: There are many reports of Visio televisions being impossible to repair found both on this site and others. These appear to be the results of a campaign to promote LG at the expense on Visio and Samsung in particular. Modern production techniques mean that it costs no more to assemble a television well than it does to assemble one badly. It is reasonable to expect a Visio television to last for many years.
