It depends, if it's a hard tight fit case, then no; if it's a soft rubber case, then it should.
Rubber cases because when they fall to the ground they bounce. Hard cases just crack the screen.
It depends on your preference. The silicon cases are better if you just want to cover the iPod Touch so you don't accidentally let go of the iPod. The hard cases are better for those who are clumsy and will drop their iPods. I would recommend the Silicon Case, because the case is easy to take off and is pretty flexible. I recomend a Pelican case, they are watertight and covered by a lifetime warranty and come in many colors and sizes, yeah if you drop your ipod a lot a hard case like a Pelican is great.
With so many types of cases for cellphones, it can be hard to be sure what type to use. If you need added protection, a rubber skins offer better protection. They are thicker and have better shock absorbtion properties.
hard plastic depending on what you buy
it depends, you can't board on dirt with hard wheels but hard wheels are better for streets and skate parks
No. The new iPod Touch 4G's are slimer than the 3G and a hard or soft case will not fit them.

you want a soft rubber band ball with strechy rubber bands, but you also want to be carefull that you dont make it to big and to small
A hard case is going to protect from far more than more leather cases.
Well, think of it. rubber would be better than most things you can think of, huh? And if it's just too hard for you, than rubber is for the difficulty level.
On a mobile phone, I'd say plastic if you want a hard case,, but I use gel because for me, it helps me hold my Ipod touch comfortably, I think plastic is a bit hard... Gel also adsorbs shock and may protect your phone more, so I say gel! :D
