Hope I helped!
there is difference in material ms is mild steel and gi is galvanised iron, hence the properties will be different
Very likely to leak, zinc in the GI pipe will be contaiminating the weld and thus you cannot get a good weld.
GI Pipe is "Galvanized Iron" Pipe. These days the pipe will likely be made from steel rather than iron.
Grind the surface of GI pipe lightly to remove the skin which is about 0.1 to 0.2 mm, than weld the MS pipe as per the wall thickness and use accordingly the welding rod at the required gauge / Dia of the welding rod. this works fine.
Basic difference is material. One is galvanizing iron and another is mild steel. Regarding using off caurse a major different between these two
MS pipe refers to mild steel pipe and ERW pipe is electric resistance welding pipe. The difference is ERW is made of very fine hard steel, while MS (black pipe) is made of malleable steel.
what is weight of 60 dia ms pipe
yes
The weight of a 40mm diameter mild steel (MS) pipe would depend on its length and wall thickness. A general estimate for a 40mm MS pipe with a wall thickness of 3mm would be around 3.27 kilograms per meter.
B Class pipe Ms- This pipe is made out of Mild Steel, wall thickness will be 3.2 mm +/- 10%, this pipe will be painted in Blue colour at the end. B Class will be medium duty pipe.
MS is the short form of mild steel nothing but simply called as iron or ferrus . Pipes which are manufactured like this are available in different diametres generally used in construction for railings, Piping systems, fabrication of trusses etc., depending on their gauges and engineering requirements. In the same way, there are different pipes MS-Mild steel GI-Galvovized Iron ( MS coated with Zinc by electrolysis process) CR-Colled rolled ERW-Electric resistance welded CEW-Cold drawn electrically welded SMLS-Seamless Steeel pipe
ms pipe B class 20 mm & 40 mm convrsion from one mtr weight into kgs
