Single Sideband (SSB) modulation is generally not suitable for video signal transmission due to its inherent complexity and the nature of video signals, which require a substantial bandwidth to accurately convey high-frequency details and rapid changes in luminance and chrominance. SSB is designed for efficient voice communication, where the bandwidth can be constrained, but video signals contain a wide range of frequencies and require continuous transmission of large amounts of data. Additionally, the SSB demodulation process can introduce delays and distortions that are unacceptable for real-time video applications. Hence, modulation schemes specifically tailored for higher bandwidth and quality, like amplitude modulation (AM) or frequency modulation (FM), are preferred for video transmission.

What is analog modulation?

Analog modulationIn analog modulation, the modulation is applied continuously in response to the analog information signal.Common analog modulation techniques are:Amplitude modulation (AM) (here the amplitude of the modulated signal is varied) Double-sideband modulation (DSB) Double-sideband modulation with unsuppressed carrier (DSB-WC) (used on the AM radio broadcasting band)Double-sideband suppressed-carrier transmission (DSB-SC)Double-sideband reduced carrier transmission (DSB-RC)Single-sideband modulation (SSB, or SSB-AM), SSB with carrier (SSB-WC)SSB suppressed carrier modulation (SSB-SC)Vestigial sideband modulation (VSB, or VSB-AM)Quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM)Angle modulation Frequency modulation (FM) (here the frequency of the modulated signal is varied)Phase modulation (PM) (here the phase shift of the modulated signal is varied)

What are the disadvantages of single sideband AM transmission?

An AM transmission, viewed on a spectrum analyser, has a carrier and two sidebands. AM transmissions are easy to generate, transmit and receive. This is the advantage of AM. AM is widely used for broadcast radio stations below 30MHz. If a very high quality filter is used, the carrier and one sideband can be removed from an AM transmission. This is called single sideband (SSB). The main advantage of SSB is that it occupies less than half the spectrum space of an AM transmission so more than double the number of transmissions can fit into a given frequency band. This is the advantage of SSB. SSB is used by ships, aircraft and radio amateurs. To receive SSB, the carrier has to be recreated in the receiver on exactly the right frequency. This makes SSB transmissions tricky to tune in. SSB has the nick name of "Donald Duck" because this is what it sounds like if the receiver tuning is not quite right. Also music is very difficult to tune in. This is the main disadvantage of SSB.

What is a transmission mode?

In radio we would have: Phone ( voice and music)- AM, FM, Citizens Band, SSB (Single side band)- then CW ( continuous wave) for code transmission, such things as Facsimile, Telex over radio ( Radio-teletype). which are entirely machine-generated like a typewriter keyboard, and so on... Television is a form of transmission mode- but is not radio but well, Video.

When was SG-SSB created?

SG-SSB was created in 1975.

What is the process of an SSB?

SSB stands for Services Selection Board. The SSB is a test for Armed Forces of India. The process of an SSB would be that they test your intelligence and personality in 5 days to check compatibility and a persons potential.

What are the advantages of SSB and DSB over AM?

advantage of SSB ic can save power..and also the bandwidth requirements

Why does jasmine fancy ssb?

This is a lie and I don't fancy SSB, this has been a big misunderstanding !! Thanks xx

Is there such thing as ssb unleashed?

No

Institute for ssb?

I think there are a lot of materials on web teaching you the preparations required for SSB's but i suggest you read the below Blog. As its written by a recommended candidate. BLOG : http://vscribe.blogspot.com Good luck for your ssb

What does ssb stand for?

ssb stands for super smash bros.

What is a modulated carrier waves?

A modulated carrier wave is the output of a modulator that includes the information of the signal that is applied to the carrier. When a signal typically a piece of music in the range of say 30Hz to 30KHz is applied to an AM modulator (not sure about FM or PM) with a carrier of say 3MHz the output consists of 4 packetsUpper Sideband (Carrier + Signal) 3.000003MHz to 3.03MhzLower Sideband (Carrier - Signal) .297MHz to .299997MHzCarrier 3MHzSignal 30Hz to 30KHzEither sideband in the case of Single Side Band (SSB) or Both (.297MHz to 3.03Mhz) in the case of Double Side Band (DSB) could be referred to as modulated carrier waves
