Why can't I edit a question on answers?

You Must Sign InTo edit a question, a user must be signed in.

In other words, if you are using the site with an IP address, you may not edit a question, although you can can answer questions and edit the categories.

There are multiple ways to edit a question:

• Click the orange pencil next to the question
• If the question has an answer, the pencil will be replaced for an orange box with the word "Improve"
• On the blue toolbar on the left click 'improve question'
• When viewing the question in a list (is on a members contribution page or in the category list), waving the cursor over it will make 'Menu' appear on the right, clicking it gives an option to edit the question

Sometimes questions are locked by Supervisors and Vandal Patrol if they are constantly vandalised. If this is the case, you will see a padlock next to the question. Only Supervisors can edit locked questions.
