It is time to replace hot water tank before it starts leaking. Try and drain tank
and see if that helps. It is rust that is poping inside tank. If your tank is over
8 years old i would just replace it
Your hot water heater may be running even when you're not using hot water because it is working to maintain the set temperature of the water in the tank. This is a normal function of the heater to ensure that hot water is readily available when you need it.
If water is only drawn from the cold faucet, then no, the water heater is not involved. However, if water is drawn from the hot faucet- even for a few seconds- hot water IS withdrawn from the heater, and fresh cold water drawn in to be heated- even if the hot water did not make it all the way through the pipe to the faucet- and the water heater will work to heat that fresh cold water.
The identity of the person knocking at the door can vary widely depending on the context. It could be a friend, a delivery person, or even someone unexpected, like a stranger or a salesperson. The sound of knocking often introduces a moment of curiosity or anticipation, prompting whoever is inside to consider whether to open the door and engage with the visitor.

To effectively use an immersion water heater for your bathtub, fill the tub with water to the desired level before submerging the heater. Turn on the heater and wait for the water to reach your preferred temperature. Stir the water occasionally for even heating. Once the water is warm enough, turn off the heater and enjoy a comfortable and relaxing bath. Remember to follow safety precautions and never leave the heater unattended while in use.
Sediment buildup in a water heater can lead to reduced efficiency, increased energy costs, and even damage to the heater. To prevent or address this issue, regular flushing of the water heater to remove sediment is recommended. Additionally, installing a water softener can help reduce sediment buildup in the long term.
It is not the square feet that determines the size water heater you need it is the demand. The more people who live in the home the higher the demand on the water heater to produce enough hot water. 1-3 people requires a 40 gallon water heater 4-6 people requires a 50 gallon water heater Of course you can make do with a 40 gallon water heater with a family of 4 or more but you will at times run out of hot water. Even if there are only 1 or 2 living in the home do not buy a 30 gallon water heater. You save very little money and may run out of hot water. But at least a 40 gallon.
Yes, you can use the water in a water heater even if you turn off the power, provided the heater is a tank-type model and there is no risk of it running out of hot water. However, if it’s an electric water heater, ensure that you don’t try to turn it back on without water in it, as that could damage the heating elements. If the unit is a gas water heater, it will continue to provide hot water until the stored supply is depleted. Always exercise caution and check the manufacturer's guidelines for safe use.
Gas, oil, electric, solar and I have even seen Bio mass water heaters.
