Narcissists NEVER like to be wrong and certainly don't like to be corrected. They feel they know everything and are ego maniacal and consider those around them inferior in intelligence to themselves. What a narcissist says is always right and everyone else is wrong. Narcissists are rather strange creatures and they want everything neat, tidy, and in order in their lives (psychologically speaking.) They have to have control and therefore, if something is the least bit out off kilter in their life they will become the ultimate 'Drama Queen' or 'Drama King.' There is simply no winning with a Narcissist and few every seek counseling for their problem.
They are very manipulative, if you catch them in a lie they will often say they are insulted and turn it back on you, say you are investigating and doubting their integrity and never answer that you actually found inconsistent statements and just wanted to understand what was going on. They say they are insulted and stonewall you. They are control freaks break off commitments with heavy drama about your faults when it is their issues and obviously your own naivite, inexperience or family patterns or perhaps your own father or mother was a child of a narcissist and lashes out your own parent or you in the same way so you feel it is normal. They do love heavy drama and do not apologzize because they are never to blame. They do get lonely and it is not so easy for them to find people that will stay with them for a long time that are acceptable to their high standards. Yes they are very critical. The perfect victime will stay too long in the relationship until he or realizes that it was too long. We were groomed for this role. THey are not always such bad or eveil people just linited in scope. Think of it this way, it's all about them not about you.
