Your pump may be loose and moving/twisting around when turned on. First- Fix pipe then maybe put rocks around it to keep it from moving, the tighter the better.

make sure you are using the correct PVC weld glue. this is a big factor and one can never use enough glue. really lay it on. and make sure you give the glue at least 12 hours drying time before turning anything on regardless of what the packaging says.
