I've wondered the same thing about the small city of Chesnee SC. I used to own a store there and it was custom or tradition to close at noon on Weds as well. It wasn't required but most businesses did. Now a few years later most businesses don't close on wed anymore. I moved my business to Spartanburg about 10 years ago...and i still close on weds lol My preacher says that he thinks it got started (closing on weds) so people could attend wed night church services...but i don't know about that. Also i noticed that most pawn shops around here also close all day on wed. I would like to find out for sure though seeya
