There are a few reasons. Sometimes this can be caused by a virus or other mal-ware on your computer that is automatically pushing you twoard a specific site. However, more often than note, this is a result of instructions on the page itself telling your browser to move to a new page.
There are at least a couple reasons why you might see this:
The page you encounter is a "splash page" (frequently found on commercial products sites and the pages of over zealous pre-teen "web-designers") which usually times-out after a few seconds and sends you to the "real page"
The re-direct is sending you to (or from) a secure server. You'll frequently find this with banks or other sites that deal with money transactions, though they will always tell you that the redirect is going to happen (and usually provide some sort of "This page will redirect in 5 seconds" or similar with a count down)
Sometimes (very rarely) if a server is experiencing extremely high traffic, they will occasionally re-route to a back up server at a different URL (this was more common in the early days of the net, and you will almost never see it now)
the minecraft site is minecraft.net
Again ebay is the best place to start your search. The site will redirect you to dealers with ratings that may help in your decision making process.
because the other search engines google redirects you they own
You can visit www.monster.com for jobs searches and your information will not be sold. You can also check on www.careerbuilder.com for another reliable search site.
The 301 permanent Redirect is the most search engine-friendly method of redirection to the new URL or page and is the current standard for SEO purposes.Access the "Internet Services Manager" on your Windows Server and right-click on the site that you want to redirect traffic from then select "Properties" and then "Home Directory".Now you should see the "Default Web Site Properties" window along with the "Home Directory" tab front and center. Now the settings:Select "A redirection to a URL",In the "Redirect to:" field type in the address of the new domain you want to forward traffic to,Select "A permanent redirection for this source"Press the "OK" button - you are done!
What do you mean another forum? If you mean a whole different site, then it is impossible unless you just redirect it. You could make a tab on the NavBar on the top and redirected to the other site if you want, or just post the Link in Announcements or something lol...
What is it? It is simply a trojan that redirects your Google searches to a spam site. How can I get rid of it? The Google redirect virus can be simply removed by downloading and installing Windows Live OneCare. Download it from the Microsoft site. =) hope it helped
An interesting new search site is Bing.com. Another is Ask.com
Try Facebook, Hi5 or another social networking site.
Edit the /etc/hosts file, and redirect the site's name (ie. www.google.com) to 127.0.0.1

Sometimes search engines will redirect an inserted search. This is to try to help provide better and more accurate answers.
