Why is drinking and driving bad?

because there is a part in our brain that is called the Parietal lobe and when messed with it can damage your six senses which in driving with be seeing. instead of seeing 1 road you see 2. that's why when driving drunk, drivers intend to move side to side because they do not know what side to choose.

Drinking and Driving is bad for you because it can effect you and anyone else around you, and it is against the law. many people have died becuase of it,so its best not to drink and drive.

Your reaction time slows considerably and you cannot think in a normal manner.

DUIs, Death, Manslaughter or Murder charges, wrecked cars, possible permanent disability, lawsuits...right off the top of our head.

Also don't forget jail time and losing your life. Always get a designated driver or taxi, its best to be safe than sorry!

There are many reasons. Usually, they have been safe in the past, leading them to expect to be safe in the future. Often, peer pressure. Inexperience can have a drunk person unaware of his inebriation. Rarely, an unanticipated need to get somewhere (ex: someone at the party needs to get to an emergency room). Apathy can also come into play.

If you want this to diminish, you have to change the reward/punishment system such that DUI is associated with punishment. For example: if first offence DUI required a minimum of one month in prison and a 1 year loss of license, fewer people would do it. If third offences required permanent loss of license, fewer people would do it. Instead, our laws and courts are clearly designed to tolerate DUI.

Stigmatizing DUI would also have a desirable impact. The same advertising techniques used to enable seat belt laws could easily be applied.
