Single and double quotes are grammatically equivalent. The choice between them is entirely stylistic, but you should pick one and consistently use it, rather than alternate between them.
For the most part, it is better to use double quotes, as this makes it easier to discern what is what when there are quotes embedded within quotes.
Song titles go in quotation marks. Example: "Amazing Grace" CD albums are italicized on the computer or underlined if written by hand. Exampe: Daughtry
Yes, the titles of poems are put in quotation marks. The only exceptions are epics, which should be italicized or underlined. The general rule is simple: works that are generally published on their own ("stand-alone" works) are italicized or underlined, while works that normally appear as part of a collection (such as poems and short stories) are put in quotation marks.
I have not seen them used on any of my CDs. But you can do what you wish to fit the style you want for the music.
If you mean CD like CD player, then no.
The title of a song is put in quotation marks when writing a formal report, in either typed or written form.Whole works, such as novels or albums, are italicized in typed form and underlined in written form. Pieces of works, such as short stories or songs, are generally put in quotation marks.
When you write the title of a short story in a paper/essay/report/etc., you use quotation marks. Always. Bolding is never necessary unless your teacher/boss/etc. wants it, for some reason, or some style asks for it (definitely not MLA, and probably not APA, though I don't use APA). Underlining is necessary for LONG works such as whole novels/books, magazines, CDs, movie titles, plays, etc., while quotation marks are used for shorter works like specific chapters in a book, songs on a CD, articles in a magazine or online, etc. *If you are writing the title of your OWN short story, paper, etc., you don't need to do anything. It's yours; you're actually TITLING your work, not referring to it. I hope that helps.
Two of Beyonce's CD titles are Dangerously In Love and IAM... Sasha Fierce.
To automatically get song titles from a CD in iTunes select the Advanced menu and select Get CD Track Names.
CD or album titles are italicized in word processed documents on a computer. They are underlined when on a typewriter or on handwritten documents.
Names of authors - of songs, books, articles, stories and so on - should be written out in plain type. It is the titles of works that should be italicized (or, if italics are not available, underlined).
