ANYTHING can be harmful depending on someone (anyone's) point of view. As examples:

• Trees give us oxygen, shade, and protection from the sun. But, tree roots break through sewer pipes. Trees grow high and their branches interfere with electrical and telephone lines. "Tree huggers" want to save trees, while others want to cut trees down. Still others take a middle ground: trim the branches and save the tree.
  
• Bark of some trees give us medicines, like aspirin. Aspirin is one of the oldest, safest drugs. But if you take too many or for too long, you can end up damaging your body.
• Numerous medications help billions of people. But every medication has the potential to harm or even kill.
• Vehicles let us travel quickly. But vehicles cause accidents and deaths.
• Every motorized, mechanical device can cause physical injury and mutilation. We still need these machines.
• Surgery can treat numerous life threatening and minor conditions. But surgery can also maim. Every surgery runs the risk of death.
• No one would argue against farms, orchards, vineyards. But vegetables and fruits that touch the ground also carry bacteria and germs. Pickers might not wash their hands after going to the bathroom, so they can add bacteria to what they pick. So fruits and vegetables CAN, under improper conditions, make us sick. But what choice do we have besides to trust farms, orchards, and vineyards.
• In relationships, every time we love someone, we risk being rejected. We don't stop loving, though.
• Governments provide protection to its citizens. Governments can be corrupt, love power, and ignore its citizens. We still need governments.
• Almost all kids hate school at some point. But schools educate and prepare kids for adulthood.
