The best books I've found on survival are 'Mykel Hawke's Green Beret Survival Manual', 'The US Army Survival Manual FM 21-76', and the 'US Army Survival Handbook', by the Department of the Army, revised and updated by Sergeant First Class Matt Larsen'.
