I wouldn't say there are "benefits" from chewing raw sugar cane. But it is healthier then processed sugar you buy at the store. Make sure the sugar cane is free of "hard crystals". Hard crystals are a mineral usually found in raw sugar canes that is usually cause when rotting pieces of sugar clump together.
