"Meta-analytical" refers to a type of study (called a
meta-analysis) which surveys and combines the results of a wide
variety of other studies with similar hypotheses. For instance, if
I am conducting a meta-analysis on shyness, I would survey a wide
variety of research findings on shyness and combine them into one
final series of results.
