Probably Robert Ripley, a known Sinophile. it is interesting to note that the author also claimed, as did Sprague de Camp, that the China Wall was visible from the Moon, alone of Man-Made landmarks. this has never been substantiated. apart from its defense function the Great Wall was an elevated superhighway of sorts- and as such the longest in the world. it is no longer entirely contiguous so you can"t stretch the hike out over all of China, so to speak. the Great Wall also figures, in its (Highway) role in the song ( March of The Kings) by the Russian composer Prokokiev.. Late at night upon the Great Highway, I met three Kings of the Orient riding.. The sheet music even showed the Three Kings , at dusk, on Camelback on an elevated structure- obviously the China Wall. Quite a Haul from Shih-Huang-Ti, generally credited with building the wall.
Yes. South Africans Braam Malherbe and David Grier ran the full length (the main spine) of the Great Wall of China in 2006 in aid of the charity Operation smile. The distance covered was 4, 218 kms and it took the team 98 days to complete. http://www.braammalherbe.com/

To those who do not know the full story behind its construction, the Great Wall of China is a great sign of Chinese advancement and innovation in ancient times. It's also a great tourist attraction.
Some examples of world famous historic sites in China are The Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Army, the Giant Buddha of Leshan and the Zhonghua Gate. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. China is full of historic sites.
The People's Republic of China
China didn't directly support anyone but themselves. They had their hands full from Japan invading them. But technically they would be considered an allied power based on the fact that they fought the axis.
"Yonder" typically means "at a distance, over there." When paired with "great," "great yonder" could imply something impressive or of significant distance. The phrase "great yonder, you both" may suggest looking towards something ambitious or distant with another person or group.
