This would depend upon the zoo, but I think for the most part the answer is no. Most zoos that I have seen either keep their bird displays indoors or they have a large overhead net to keep the birds from flying out.
Clipping a bird's feathers prevents him from flying, which is not healthful to the bird. For pet birds, this can be tolerated if needed because they don't need to fly much anyway, but even then it's still better to let them have their feathers and be able to fly.
You need to clip their feathers at least every two months. You clip only a bit of their feathers and DON'T GO INTO THE BONE OR ELSE...
As with other birds, the wing of a blue jay is covered in feathers.
There are no animals that have feathers besides birds.
Yes. Kingfishers are birds, and all birds have feathers.
Pretty much all birds have feathers
No. Only birds have feathers. Kangaroos are mammals, not birds.
no they have feathers
Cassowaries are birds so, like all birds, they have feathers. Only mammals have fur.
Mammals are not covered with feathers. Mammals grow hair, but do not have to be covered with hair. Birds are covered with feathers.
NO!! because they have feathers
Yes, especially because they are birds. :)
Oh yeah! There is a blood vein in the center of a birds feather and if you clip into it they will bleed. Fortunately if you look at the feather closely you will see where the vein ends ( the center is transparent), clip well below there. Remember that you only need to trim a little off the outer few feathers ( flight feathers)to prevent flight.
