Plus they are protected from their predators, and babies abandoned are hand reared. Almost all zoos protect the animals from the visitors too, not allowing the guests to harass them, throw things at them, or be too loud, or taunt the animals. It's not always perfect or ideal, but as a general rule, most zoos that are accredited, or certified do try to protect and care for their animals.
