River water can be purified in many ways:

1)

You need 3 baskets, and each of them will include some sort of siv (i.e - Furns/leaves)

Hang them 1 on top of each other with string. Like this:

_Grass _ (Basket 1)

_Leaves_ (Basket 2)

_Cotton_ (Basket 3)

Poor the water in the top and it will separate the water and dirt.

Buy a water straw!

I dont know where you can buy them but they are staws that purify water inside the straw so all you have to do is drink! The more you drink it the more pure it gets.
