Canal rays were discovered by Sir William Crookes in 1870. He observed these rays while studying the behavior of cathode rays in a vacuum tube.
Canal rays, sometimes called anode rays, were first observed in by Eugen Goldstein in 1886. These rays are streams of positive ions in a rarefied gas and have a higher mass compared to electrons.
Eugen Goldstein proposed the expression cathode rays(but he was not the discoverer) and discovered the so-called in the era canal rays.
Anode rays are positively charged .so they are bend towards perforated cathode which is negatively charged and pass through them.since they have passed through canals or holes by producing fluorescence. Therefore they are known as canal rays.
Positive rays are called canal rays because they are positively charged particles emitted by the anode and accelerated through a small canal or channel in the cathode of a cathode ray tube. These rays were discovered by Eugen Goldstein and were later studied by J.J. Thomson.
Anode rays are also known as canal rays because they were discovered to be positively charged particles produced in a cathode tube when the cathode rays strike a gas at low pressure. The particles travel in the opposite direction of cathode rays and move towards the anode or positive electrode, hence the name "anode rays."
canal rays
Johann Wilhelm Ritter discovered ultraviolet rays
it opened in 1914.The Panama canal was not discovered. To be discovered it has to all ready exist. It was built by the United States.
Canal rays, also known as positive rays, are streams of positively charged particles, typically ions or atoms, that are emitted from the anode during gas discharge in a cathode ray tube. They are called "canal rays" because they travel through narrow channels or "canals" formed in the gas, which is ionized by the electrons emitted from the cathode. The discovery of canal rays helped in understanding the nature of atomic structure and led to the identification of different elements based on their positive ion emissions.
Cathode rays were discovered by JJ Thomson and carry a negative charge Anode rays were discovered by Goldstein and carry a positive charge.
