Over 2,000,000 blocks of cut limestone that weighed on average 2.5 tons each.
The Great Pyramid consists of more than 2.3 million limestone blocks. The Egyptians shipped the limestone blocks from quarries all along the Nile River. The stone was cut by hammering wedges into the stone. Next the wedges were soaked with water. The wedges expanded, causing the rock to crack. Once they were cut, they were carried by boat either up or down the Nile River to the pyramid.
Most modern sources estimate that there are 2.3 million blocks most of them limestone weighing on average 2.5 tons (2,545kg). The limestone blocks were cut from quarries located close to the pyramid site.
The blocks on the pyramids are all different sizes. The blocks on the bottom are the largest; the blocks get smaller as they go up. The size of the bottom blocks of the Giza Pyramid are 1.5 meters tall, 1.5 meters wide, and 2.25 meters deep. A block this size would weigh 8.44 kg (9.3 tons). Some of the blocks weigh as much as 80 tons!6'X6'ft
To cut retaining wall blocks effectively, use a diamond blade saw or a chisel and hammer. Measure and mark the cut line, then carefully cut along the line with the saw or chisel. Wear safety goggles and gloves to protect yourself while cutting the blocks.
The pyramids are not made of bricks, they are made of hand cut limestone blocks some weighing many tons.
I used recycled folders i cut them then taped them
The limestone blocks were cut out in the quarries close the pyramid site. Once the limestone blocks quarried they were lowered onto sledges. Gangs of naked slaves dragged the sledge along a causeway laid with planks. Water or oil was poured in front of the blades of the sledge to help them slide more easily. When they were building the Great Pyramid of king Khufu granite blocks weighing anything up to 70 tons were were floated over 400 miles from Aswan down the river Nile on rafts made from papyrus reeds. A canal connected the river with the pyramid site so the rafts could be brought as close to the pyramid site as possible. from here they had to be dragged on giant sledges to their location in the pyramid.
They cut big limestone blocks with copper chisels and saws. Gangs of men dragged them to the pyramid site and pushed...
Cut blocks are, but chop blocks are not. Both should be against the rules.
There are no bricks in Khufu's pyramid but there are some 2.3 million blocks of stone. Most of these block are cut from limestone quarried locally with an average weight of 2.5 tons. There are some granite blocks some of which weigh up to 70 tons.
Most of the pyramid was made from limestone blocks of approximately 2.5 tons each cut from quarries close the pyramid site. The quarried blocks were lowered onto sledges. Gangs of slaves tugging on ropes made from papyrus reeds dragged the sledge along a causeway laid with planks. Water or oil was poured in front of the blades of the sledge to help them slide more easily. A ramp of mud, brick and rubble was used to haul the blocks up to the working level.
