Sea cucumbers move primarily by using their tube feet, which are part of their water vascular system. These tube feet extend from their bodies and allow them to crawl along the ocean floor. Additionally, they can contract and relax their muscular body wall to help them burrow into the substrate or reposition themselves as needed. Some species can also use a form of swimming by undulating their body.
