From a scientific perspective, nothing really happens forever although some things happen for a really long time. In the Amazon rain forest it rains every day, but the Amazon rain forest itself is not likely to last forever, or even necessarily for very long, since lots of people have other plans for that real estate. In many parts of the world, it can rain for a long time, even for months, but eventually it stops. Then it starts again later.
Indians probably did for a long time...
Amazon Rain ForestThe Amazon jungle is the Earth's largest rain forest, covering much of Peru. The 3,900-mile long Amazon River is fed by a thousand rivers. Some are more than 1,000 miles long! The jungle is home to millions of animals, including the world's biggest rodents, snakes and ants. Some 200,000 native Indians like this Matses Indian woman live in the Peruvian Amazon. They are divided into more than 50 ethnic groups.
Forest fires help people because they give off nutrients to the plants that we eat. If the forest fire lasts too long the plants will die.
