The Colosseum, located in Rome, has eighty arches which provided eighty entrances/exits. Seventy six were numbered and were for the general public. Four were un-numbered grand entrances. One was the ceremonial entrance for the emperor, the senators and the Vestal Virgins. One was for the magistrates (officers of state). One was for the gladiators. The final one was an exit through which the dead gladiators were taken away.
