the cost of the Louvre Pyramid was 75 million francs - nowadays 11.43 million euros, or 15.88 million US $ at today's exchange rate (1 euro = 1.3891 $)
To see the Louvre pyramid is free. To get inside the Louvre, you must spend money.

A large glass pyramid was installed in the Louvre's garden during the 80s. I was heavily criticised at the time, not so much today. It was built by Chinese architect Yeo Ming Pei.
They didn't have much choice
Depends on the size of the pyramid. It is thought 10,000 men worked for 20 years to build the Great Pyramid at Giza.
Depends on the size. According to the greek historian Herodotus it took 100,000 naked slaves twenty years to build the Great Pyramid at Gizeh. More modern scholars estimate a much lower figure varying from 10,000 to 30,000.
All it takes to Build a pyramid is a little pixie dust and your imagination. with that, anything can come true! I'm KIDDING! it took thousands of slaves and many years to build the pyramids.
it could take years decades or even centries
I don't know, but they say that every pyramid took at least 15 years to build and for every pyramid that was built some 1000 people died. Money didn't come into the equation in the modern sense of buying the materials, paying the designer and the labour costs.
Many of the artworks in the Louvre are priceless.
