How would the weather change in LaPorte County if Lake Michigan suddenly disappeared?

The weather would undoubtedly become drier with far less snowfall and less rainfall,additionally many animal species dependent on a moister environment would gradually die out and many plant species would be negatively affected,several plants which are rain dependent would suffer greatly and invasive species which are not affected by ground moisture in the same way would have a chance to take over and create a botanists worst nightmare.Winters would become more severe due to a lessened "moderating effect of warmer water temperatures" surrounding the now non-existant lake.Species such as salamanders would suffer massive die-outs due to a loss of vernal bodies of water which they would normally use to re- produce the species.A biological disaster of this proportion would affect wildlife to an extent unimaginable, NOT ONLY LOCALLY BUT REGIONALLY.
