Yes, bridges are safe. Millions of people cross bridges every day, on foot, in cars and in trains. They would never do that if bridges weren't safe.

- As a child, my favorite bridges were the beautiful Victoria Falls bridge that took you almost 450 feet above the mighty Zambesi where you could feel the spray from Victoria Falls, and the Alfred Beit Bridge about 30 feet over that 'great grey-green, greasy Limpopo River.' where you could watch the zebras, kudu and buffalo drinking at the edges, each with a wary eye on the nearby crocodiles. -I never once felt unsafe.
