Yes, the Everglades is considered a brackish system. It is a unique ecosystem that features a mixture of fresh and saltwater, primarily due to its proximity to the ocean and the influence of tidal waters. This brackish environment supports a diverse range of plant and animal species adapted to varying salinity levels. The intricate balance of freshwater inflows and saltwater intrusion is essential for maintaining the health of the Everglades ecosystem.
Dolphins in the Everglades primarily inhabit the coastal waters and estuaries, particularly in areas such as Florida Bay and the waters surrounding the Ten Thousand Islands. These regions provide a rich habitat with abundant fish and other prey. While they may venture into the inland waters of the Everglades, they are predominantly found in the brackish and saltwater environments where they can easily hunt and socialize.
There exists only one Everglades eco-system in the entire world, and it's in southern Florida.
Brackish. Brackish. Brackish.

The water in this part of the swamp seems to be more brackish. The waters of Loch Ness are very brackish.
Tropical and brackish are not mutually exclusive. Tropical means warm, and brackish means somewhat salty. Many brackish fish ARE tropical, and many tropical fish are brackish. You can keep tropical brackish fish with other tropical brackish fish, if they have the same temperment and will not harm or eat eachother. You can keep some brackish fish with some freshwater tropicals, and similarly you can keep some brackish fish with some marine tropicals. There are no wide open set of principles for brackish fish compatability beyond those that I have just illustrated.
The Everglades are subtropical wetlands located in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Florida, comprising the southern half of a large watershed. The system begins near Orlando with the Kissimmee River, which discharges into the vast but shallow Lake Okeechobee. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everglades
