It matters what kind of wire like a cell phone charger would not be a conductor but a wire made for braces would be a big conductor. Also anything metal is a positive conductor of electricity. :)

Is wire an insulator or conductor?

Wire can be either an insulator or a conductor, depending on its material and properties. Copper wire, for example, is a good conductor of electricity, while rubber-coated wire is used as an insulator to protect against electric shocks.

What is the difference between heat conductor and electricity conductor?

Example: aluminum is a good conductor of heat as to a wire touching another exposed wire will cause crossing of electrodes

What is a example of a electrical conductor?

A copper wire would be an example of a conductor of electricity.

What is the voltage source and what is the conductor in a circuit?

The voltage source is the source of the electricity. The conductor is what the electricity flows through to reach its destination. Example: A battery is a voltage source and an electrical wire is the conductor.

Is wire a conductor of electricity?

Yes, wire is a conductor of electricity.

Copper wire is an example of what?

A Reddish metal, a good conductor of electricity and heat, ductility, tensile strength, malleability, and good, clean fun!

What object uses both an insulator an conductor?

Elecrical wire is an great example of this. the copper wiring is the conductor of electrons and the plastic coating insulates the wire absorbing some heat from friction and it's impermeable to electrons not allowing them through outside the wire.

Is a wire a conductor?

Yes, a wire is a conductor because it allows electricity to flow through it.

Is a wire a conductor or insulator?

A wire is typically a conductor, meaning it allows electricity to flow through it.

What happens when there is no plastic coating on a electrical wire?

Nothing happens. The wire will still conduct electricity. An example of this is the overhead utility wiring. The insulation on a conductor is there strictly to keep the conductor from touching any thing that would ground the conductor. This grounding could be from another adjacent conductor or a grounded medium around the conductor. A grounded conductor will trip the over current protection and trip the circuit off line. Without an insulation on the wire multiple wires in a conduit could not be utilized.

Is plastic wrapped around the electric wires is a good conductor?

Plastic wrapped around the wire is insulator. Not a conductor. That is why it is wrapped around the conductor wire.

Is a copper wire a nonmetal conductor?

Yes. It is a nonmetal conductor.
