Keeping animals in zoos is that they get saved from dangers of wildlife. By keeping them in zoo ensures their safety and also helps in keeping them away from diseases that they could not survive in jungle life. At the same time, Zoo provides a way to people to take a closer look at animals and see how they behave. It is an entertainment with purpose where it is educating citizens, there are also benefits for animals.
The animals would have a greatly increased life span because 1.) there are no predators 2.) they will never starve for food and 3.) they'll always have a place to sleep at night.
A lot of times animals in the wild will become injured. If they are injured beyond repair, they will have to live in a zoo. Owls, for example have very fragle bones in their wings. If their bones in their wings break, sometimes it results in no more flight. A flightless owl in the wild will not be able to defend itself easily. It may not survive, so it has to live some place safe. There are also cases where a human takes a baby animal from the wild to try and keep it as a pet. Once the animal grows up after a year, the cute baby animal is not so cute anymore, and may become uncontrolable. So the person takes it to a zoo to live out the rest of its life. Never ever take a baby animal from the wild. If you see a baby animal without a mother, it's probably okay. The mothers have to leave their babies alone every now and then. But if you see no mother for a day, or so, call the proper authorities. In other cases, baby animals are born in zoos and used to educate the visitors that come to the zoo.
