A rain forest is simply a forest that has lots and lots of rain each year (+70in a year) The Amazon rain forest in particular is very large it covers a good portion of South America (1.4 billion acres). It calls 9 different countries home and is home to thousands of types of trees and animals. The climate is warm (about 79* F) and humid.
I can think of two reasons. 1. People have been cutting it down, therefore damaging the populations of animals that help it survive. 2. People have not been planting new trees in place of the old ones, therefore damaging the humans (who need products from trees), the animals (who need the habitat), and the rainforest size. In other words, humans are the threat to the Amazon rainforest, and all other rainforests and and tree populated areas. Sincerely, Iloveritzcrackers

The two types of rainforests are temperate and tropical
The two main forests in Brazil are the Amazon Rainforest, the largest tropical rainforest in the world, and the Atlantic Forest, a biodiversity hotspot that is one of the most endangered forests in the world due to deforestation.
