The density of salt is higher than the density of water. (density is kg/m3) So when you mix salt and water, and the salt dissolves in the water then the density of the water is higher than it use to be. (When you mix salt in water the volume of the water actually goes down! This is due to ion-contraction. So the density of the water doesn't just increase, it really increases.) The ability of things to float is a matter of how much water you displace, a matter of volume. The greater the volume of water you displace the greater will be the boyant force. It is also a matter of the density of the water you are displacing. As salt water is more dense than fresh water it is more boyant. As the water in the Dead Sea is very salty it is very boyant.
dead sea
It's a lot saltier than normal sea water as for many years there has been less water running into it than water that evapourates from it. The water goes but the salt stays, so it is slot saltier and has a higher relative density than normal sea water. This helps us float better on it's surface.
Aswefall Aswefall - "Between Us" lyrics I can see it from miles I can see it in your face Within in the miles That lie between us Away with the sea the sea that lies between you and me the tears they float Away with the sea (gaita) It's in the mirror It's in my eyes Within the miles that lie between us Within the miles that lie between us Away with the sea Away with the sea The tears they float Away with the sea Away with the sea The sea that lies between you and me The tears they float Away with the sea Away with the sea

they say that California is going to float off to sea or going to sink into the ocean
The Dead Sea is at an altitude of 423m below sea level.add The Salton Sea in US is 69m below seal level.
The buoyant force, which is exerted by a fluid (like water or air) on an object immersed in it, allows objects to float. This force is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object, causing it to experience an upward force that balances its weight, resulting in flotation.
US for one has the Great Salt Lake and Israel the Dead Sea.
cause gravity pulls us down and doesn't let us float
No, no US coin is light enough to float when dropped in water.
Salton Sea is located in Southern California. The Gulf of California is actually the "Sea of Cortés". The Gulf of Mexico is a sea. The Gulf of Alaska is a sea. The Gulf of Maine is a sea. Chesapeak Bay is a sea. I could go on and on. Further, The Great Salt Lake in Utah could easily be called a Sea, as the Dead Sea and Caspian Sea are both in fact saline lakes. So the short answer is the, in the US, we simply don't like to call anything a sea.
