All regions of Fiji receive more rainfall than a desert.

A desert is defined as having an annual rainfall of less than 500mm.
The lowest annual rainfall in Fiji is 1500-3000mm on some outlying islands. On the mainland the annual rainfall is 2000-3000mm on the coast and lowland areas, and up to 6000mm in mountainous areas.
