Too high - it flooded Not high enough - it did not flood.
That varied, generally just high enough to break over the relevant banks.
Ancient Egyptians called the Nile the Black Nile since at high flood levels there was a high level of sediment picked up as it flowed to the Mediterranean.
Nile
The High Nile festival was a festival the Egyptians held when the Nile river flooded it included lots of free food and drinks
a time when the river water rises high and spills over the river banks
The Aswan high dam is located on the Nile river
The Aswan High Dam, on the Nile River.
the dam has increased the annual flooding of the nile river
Like any other river, it flows downhill. Upper Egypt (south) has very high elevation and the Nile starts in Ethiopia which also has high elevation. The Nile flows down the river into Lower Egypt (north) and into the Mediterranean Sea.
South to north. The river just flows down hill, from the high mountains in the middle of Africa to the Nile delta (point where Nile enters the Mediterranean Sea).
The construction of the Aswan Dam in the 1960's meant that from 1970 the annual flood was controlled.
Due to the Aswan High Dam, the Nile River's waters have stopped flowing, and instead the water started to form a large lake.
