Last I checked, the process was wind erosion. Water may have also played a role, but in a mountain range when it becomes more rounded, rather than jagged, it is usually wind erosion. the Appalachian Mountains are also hypothesized to be older than the Rockie Mountains therefore, having more time to wear away.
States located furthest from the Appalachian Mountains are in the western United States, such as California, Oregon, and Washington. These states are located on the other side of the country, furthest away from the Appalachian range.
Erosion
Yes but so did glaciers advancing and retreating

The Appalachian mountains are about 400-500 million years old and have thus been eroded down. The Rocky mountains are very young (they are still being built) and are therefore much higher and jagged as the forces of erosion have not yet had time to grind them away.
The Appalachian Mountains have a northeast-southwest orientation and runs for about 400 miles (640 km) from north-central Pennsylvania, through western Maryland and eastern West Virginia, to southwestern Virginia.

The mountains in the far northeast are called poconos mountains. About 3,00 years ago glaciers carved in deep valleys and high, flat-topped mountain ridges into the plateau. An Appalachian Plateau, covers all most of northern and western Pennsylvania. Lake Erie is approximatly 373 miles away. The drive time is 6 hours and 3 minutes
No! Its headwaters are in the Kawuneeche Valley, Colorado, on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park. The Appalachians are thousands of miles away.
The Appalachians are older than the rocky mountains because of the fact that the Appalachians are smaller in size proving that the Appalachians have had longer to have been worn away by weathering also please do not just copy and paste you will learn nothing...
When rainfall increases erosion increases, wearing away the mountains and cliffs and filling in the canyons with the products of erosion.
