I actually think you should put the clam back into the sea you got it or in a random sea where it can feed itself. Cheeseman56: Actually, you HAVE to put the clam back into the ocean it came from, not a random water source. This is because the clam could effect the food chain of the ocean/lake, and cause other creatures to die.
A clam shell is not smooth because being smooth would decrease friction between a clam and the surface it lives on. With low friction, a clam would go places it would not want to go.
The creature clam is a two-shelled mollusks that is related to the oysters and scallops. The creature is found in the shallow freshwater streams and lakes and in the coastal waters.

The foot of a clam is a muscular structure that allows the clam to burrow into the sand or mud on the ocean floor. It extends and contracts to create movement, enabling the clam to dig into the substrate for protection and stability. Additionally, the foot can help the clam anchor itself, preventing it from being dislodged by currents or predators.
The ocean quahog, a type of clam, is known to be the longest-living animal. Some individuals have been found to live over 500 years.
