Personally, I like Towers Beach. It's right next to Dewey beach, but it's less crowded. It's peaceful. If you're looking for a more classic Delaware beach, I would visit Rehobeth beach. It's not the greatest beach anymore, it's kind of trashed and overrated. But the boardwalk there is nice. It has "Funland", with rides and games for kids, and there's shops all along the boardwalk. Also has the best taffy in the world (Snyder's).
