Usually a "push factor" implies there is no choice. But in tourism, there's always the choice, whether it means a different destination, or to opt to stay home.

The 3 big motivations for travel are escape, rejuvination and adventure. Let's examine all 3 more by the example traveller:

Escape:

  • The toiled office worker in front of a glowing screen 8.5 hours/day and a boss who won't let up.
  • The homemaker who made her 417th school lunch without a break.

Rejunivation:

  • The stressed professional behind the large oak desk and proudly displayed sheepskins.
  • The emotionally/mentally frazzled worker who normally "loves their job."

Adventure:

  • The college grad with time to spare before starting out as a toiled office worker.
  • Married couple with kids, stable job, friends, and a new home, complete with white picket fence. But they lacked "something..."

By the way, I am an example of the very last one. :)

That was us before relocating to Prague for a few years.
