Estuaries
They allow sunlight to reach the benthos to power photosynthesis.
Estuaries are flooded valleys at a river's mouth. Deltas are prograding wedges of sediment at a river's mouth. Estuaries may develop into deltas overtime as more sediment builds up and out at the river's mouth. Estuary is a zone of mixing of fresh & saline water.........but delta is made of fresh water's silt near a sea.....
In shallow, slow moving rivers, estuaries, saltwater bays, canals and costal areas
Estuaries are important nurseries for many species of fish, crustaceans, and shellfish. These organisms rely on the shallow, nutrient-rich waters of estuaries for protection from predators, access to food, and optimal conditions for growth and development before moving to deeper waters as adults.
The common snapping turtle is a freshwater species of amphibian. Typically, these turtles dwell in areas like shallow ponds, shallow lakes, streams and rarely estuaries.
Often, it is hydrated mantle coming from the Earth's core
Baymouth bars typically form at the entrances of coastal bays and estuaries where sediment is deposited by wave action and longshore drift. They create a barrier that partially encloses the bay, often leading to the formation of lagoons or shallow water areas behind the bar. These features can be found in various coastal regions around the world, particularly in areas with strong wave action and ample sediment supply.
Quahogs, also known as hard clams, live in shallow coastal waters along the Atlantic seaboard of North America. They are commonly found in estuaries, bays, and tidal flats where the water is sandy or muddy. Quahogs bury themselves in the sediment to protect themselves from predators and filter feed on algae and plankton.
by growing shallow roots
Seahorses can be found in shallow tropical and temperate waters around the world. They shelter in sea grass beds, coral reefs, estuaries, or mangroves.
Conglomerate rock is most likely formed from pebble-sized sediment deposited in shallow water at an ocean shoreline. As the pebbles accumulate, they cement together to form the rock.
