What problems does the Mississippi river face?

i have 4 disadvantages:

1) The river blocks or impedes ship traffic or barges

2)The homeless tend to group around the river and delta

3)The river causes upstream flooding.

4)It also causes upstreaming erosion

One thing that I know is the most important about the Mississippi River is the water because everyone needs water to live so that is my answer.
