Here's a little information about our park:
Elitch Gardens has a LONG history in Denver, Colorado. The park opened in 1890 as Denver's first zoo and public gardens. The Elitch family built a fabulous theater and the Trocadero Ballroom, putting Denver on the map for top-notch entertainment.Actors and actresses like Ginger Rogers, Douglas Fairbanks, Lana Turner and Vincent Price all performed at Elitch's Theater in the Gardens. In fact, Elitch Gardens was the first theater in the American West to show Edison's Warograph - animated pictures that were the precursorsto movies.
Things have changed since then - the park moved to its current location in downtown Denver in 1995. Looking west, you see Invesco Field (home of the NFL's Denver Broncos) and the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains. Looking east, you see the magnificent Denver skyline. It makes the view from the top of the Ferris wheel one of the best in Denver.
The motto of Elitch Gardens is 'Not to See Elitch's is Not to See Denver'.
