Egypt Was The Great Sphinx
The Great Sphinx at Giza has been partially covered with sand off and on since its construction. However, the head (at least) has always been exposed. Hence, it was never actually "found." Lying as it does only a short distance from the Nile, it is not known that its location was ever lost. In 1817, the first modern archaeological dig, supervised by the Italian Giovanni Battista Caviglia, uncovered the Sphinx's chest completely. The entire Sphinx was finally excavated in 1925.
Yes, various artifacts have been discovered in and around the Great Sphinx of Giza, primarily during archaeological excavations. These include tools, pottery, and inscriptions, which provide insights into the construction and historical significance of the Sphinx. However, the Sphinx itself has not been extensively excavated beneath its body, leaving much of its underground area unexplored. The most notable artifacts related to the Sphinx are those found in the surrounding temples and associated structures.
There is nothing in the Great Sphinx as it is not hollow.
