Elburz
The Elburz mountain range is directly south of the Caspian Sea.

The Elburz Mountains are located in northern Iran, stretching from the border with Azerbaijan in the northwest to the border with Turkmenistan in the northeast. They serve as a natural barrier between the Caspian Sea and the Iranian plateau.
The body of water north of the Elburz Mountains is the Caspian Sea. It is the largest enclosed inland body of water on Earth, bordered by several countries, including Iran and Russia. The Elburz Mountains run along the southern edge of the sea, creating a distinct geographical boundary.
The Elburz Mountains which extend along the northern part of Iran and the Zagros Mountains which extend along the western part of Iran. ;) I know this because we are studying the Middle East in Geography now.
