The Honorable Mrs Victor Bruce, (born Mildred Mary Petre in England, November 1895), was the first woman to fly solo around the world. Crossing the two major oceans by ship, she flew an eastward route between September 1930 and February 1931. Her plane was a Blackburn Bluebird, powered by a 100 hp DeHavilland engine.
