Every technition develops their own technique after taking them for awhile. I liked using a bite stick and eyeing it. Different doctors like different styles to look at.

Pano- this type is best for ortho because it shows a relational picture of the bone structure, amount of room, and the teeth all in one picture. It is harder to diagnose cavities from though because it does not show enough detail of each tooth.

Digital X-rays- are AWESOME, because of all the things you can dotodigitally enhance them to see anything that may be goingon.

When exposing radiographs using the bisected-angle technique the target to the film distance is?

When using the bisected-angle technique for radiographs, the target to film distance is typically set at 8 to 16 inches (20 to 40 cm). This distance helps ensure optimal image quality by minimizing distortion and maximizing detail. The positioning of the film at the bisecting angle of the angle formed between the long axis of the tooth and the plane of the film is crucial for accurate representation of the tooth's anatomy. Proper technique and distance ultimately contribute to diagnostic-quality radiographs.

Who Used paralleling technique in practical dental radiography?

Drs. Howard Raper and William Coolidge were early pioneers who utilized the paralleling technique in practical dental radiography. This technique involves placing the film parallel to the long axis of the tooth and the x-ray beam perpendicular to both, resulting in more accurate and consistent radiographic images.

What radiographic projection is taken back to front?

The radiographic projection taken back to front is called a "posteroanterior" (PA) projection. In this technique, X-rays pass from the posterior (back) side of the body to the anterior (front) side. This projection is commonly used in chest radiography to visualize the heart and lungs while minimizing distortion and providing a clear view of these structures.
