Stakeholders in forest conservation include governments, local communities, NGOs, businesses, and indigenous groups. Governments create policies and regulations, while local communities often rely on forests for their livelihoods and cultural practices. NGOs advocate for environmental protection and raise awareness, while businesses may have interests in sustainable resource use. Indigenous groups possess traditional knowledge and have a vested interest in preserving their ancestral lands, making them crucial to conservation efforts.

Sometimes internal stakeholders are much more important than external stakeholders, sometimes external stakeholders don't even exist in the project (it's mainly an internal project). Brunei Darussalam has preserved much of its forest due to strong governmental policies prioritizing environmental conservation and sustainable development. The country has implemented strict laws against deforestation and promotes ecotourism, which helps protect its rich biodiversity. Additionally, the small population and limited industrial activities reduce pressures on forested areas, allowing for better forest management and conservation efforts.
