we celebrate VAN MAHOTSAV on July 4th because we need to spread the word to people telling them not to cut down trees because more and more trees are being cut down but what people don't understand is there are houses and other buildings being put up in place of the trees but if we don't have trees we don't have oxygen and if we don't have oxygen then people cant breathe in the new houses or buildings so basically they are killing people by taking oxygen to put up houses that they don't even need to be built

Van mahotsav is an annual pan-indian tree planting festival,occupying a week in the month of july.During this event millions of trees are planted. It was initiated in 1950 by K.M Munishi,the union minister for agriculture&food to create an enthusiasm in the mind of populace for the conservation of forests & planting of trees.
