Less of the water that finds itself becoming rain comes from lakes and rivers because they do not have anywhere near as big a surface as the oceans aside from that the same rules apply to the evaporation of water into the air. as a mater of fact the rate of evaporation from many locations where there are lakes or rivers is likely to be higher as the relative humidity is lower on land then at sea.
