They are invasive because the people that got them think the babies are so cute then that 1 foot monitor thats so cute got to 7 feet the people get scared of it let it go. Im only thirteen and i walk up to them and pick them up i haven't been bit none of them tried to bite and monitors are mean but i have not been bit or haven't had one try. but i have caught 12 in canals in palm beach county. don't try and pick them up if you live in fl i mean i haven't got bit because animals trust me but if they do bite it would tear you up.
P.S if you encounter one dont call Florida Fish and Wildlife they might say their gonna find a home for it they just kill it so dont call them
